Car Brakes - Brighton and Hove

Brakes are the most safety-critical system on your vehicle. When they need attention, prompt action isn’t optional, and the quality of the work matters enormously. At CG Auto, brake repairs are carried out properly, using the right parts for the vehicle and the right approach for the fault.

We work on brake systems across a wide range of makes and models, including the more complex brake configurations found on performance and EV variants.

Signs your brakes need attention:

• Squealing, grinding, or scraping when braking
• The vehicle pulling to one side under braking
• A spongy or soft brake pedal
• Longer stopping distances than usual
• The brake warning light showing on the dashboard
• Vibration through the pedal or steering wheel when braking

What we cover

• Brake pad and disc replacement
• Brake fluid change and bleeding
• Caliper repair and replacement
• Handbrake adjustment and repair
• Brake hose inspection and replacement
• Electronic parking brake service and repair
• Regenerative braking system faults on EVs and hybrids

Honest advice, not unnecessary work

Brakes wear at different rates depending on driving style, vehicle weight, and how the car is used. We’ll always tell you what’s needed now, what can wait, and what to keep an eye on, so you’re never pushed into work that isn’t due.

As a Bosch Service centre with IMI accreditation, and 1link and ARVAL approval, CG Auto is held to recognised industry standards across everything we do, giving you confidence that your vehicle is in capable, accountable hands.
